Encuentro: Pemon Indians project
Rescuing the chants of one of the few remaining Venezuelan aboriginal communities
In 2006, the Environmental Department of EDELCA (a Venezuelan Government body) commissioned Adames to rescue the lost chants of one of the remaining Venezuelan aboriginal communities: the Pemon Indians who inhabit in Canaima and the Gran Sabana grasslands. This project was called 'Encuentro'.
As a result Adames produced the first of a series of CDs, in which he combined the chants with his own contemporary music and work of pictures and video art.
